On behalf of the Thai Society for Biotechnology (TSB) and the Asian Federation of Biotechnology—Thailand Regional Branch Office (AFOB–Thailand RBO), I am delighted to welcome you to the 9th Biotechnology International Congress (BIC 2025), taking place on 3–4 September 2025. This congress aims to serve as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and scientific advancement.

The theme of this year’s congress, “Advancing Biotechnology with SynBio and AI for Thailand's BCG Economy,” highlights the transformative potential of Synthetic Biology (SynBio) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in driving sustainable economic growth. These cutting-edge technologies are enhancing the efficiency of bio-based industries, and playing a pivotal role in achieving Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy goals.

Synthetic Biology is revolutionizing the way we engineer biological systems, enabling breakthroughs in biopharmaceuticals, sustainable biomaterials, and precision agriculture. AI, on the other hand, is accelerating discovery and optimization in biotechnology by enhancing big data analysis, predictive modeling, and automation in laboratory processes. The synergy of these technologies is setting the stage for a more efficient, scalable, and sustainable bioeconomy.

This year’s congress will explore the frontiers of biotechnology - from Applied Microbiology, Biopharmaceutical and Medical Biotechnology, and Food and Agricultural Biotechnology, to Nanobiotechnology, Bioenergy, Biorefinery, and Environmental Biotechnology. Our collaboration with the AFOB division on Systems and Synthetic Biotechnology will provide insights into the latest advancements in these fields

Welcome to The 8th Biotechnology International Congress (BIC 2024), held in conjunction with the AFOB Subdivision on Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials. As the Conference Chair, I am thrilled to invite you to join us on September 11-12, under the auspices of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and with the generous support of VNU Asia Pacific.
